About the Authors
Israel Teoldo Universidade Federal de Viçosa Centre of Research and Studies in Soccer israel.teoldo@ufv.brProfessor Israel holds a PhD in Sport Sciences at the Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto, with emphasis on tactical behaviour assessment. He spent a year as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Sport Sciences at Brunel University London, with emphasis on decision-making assessment. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Soccer at the Department of Physical Education of the Federal University of Viçosa and is in charge of the Postgraduate Course in Soccer and of the Centre of Research and Studies in Soccer. Professor Israel leads a research line on Cognition and Tactics applied to Soccer at the Lato-Sensu and Stricto-Sensu Postgraduate programs. He is the author and co-author of several works published in journals and books, of national and international circulation. He is a member of the editorial board of scientific journals from Brazil and abroad. Professor Israel is a lecturer at the coaches development program of the Brazilian Soccer Federation since 2005. He has conducted studies in European clubs and worked at the academies of América Futebol Clube/Brazil and other Brazilian Football Clubs. |
José Guilherme Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto (FADEUP), Portugal Centre of Research, Education, Innovation and Intervention in Sport (CIFI2D) goliveira@fade.up.ptProfessor José Guilherme holds a PhD in Sport Sciences and is a lecturer at the Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto. He is in charge of FADEUP’s Football Office and is a member of the Centre of Research, Education, Innovation and Intervention in Sport and of the Centre for Team Sports Studies. Professor Guilherme is an instructor in soccer coaching courses at different levels and also in international courses held by soccer federations, universities and clubs. He is a UEFA PRO certified soccer coach. Professor Guilherme has worked as coach of the SC Espinho (1991-1993) and FC Porto’s (1998-2008) and (2011-2013) academy levels, at Académica de Coimbra (2010-2011), FC Porto B (2014) and as assistant coach of the Portuguese National Team (2008-2010), having worked at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He is currently the head coach of the Portuguese National U-17 Soccer Team. |
Júlio Garganta Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto (FADEUP), Portugal Centre of Research, Education, Innovation and Intervention in Sport (CIFI2D) jgargant@fade.up.ptProfessor Júlio Garganta holds a PhD in Sport Sciences and is a lecturer at the Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto. He has coordinated the FADEUP’s Football Office in the last two decades and is a member of the Centre of Research, Education, Innovation and Intervention in Sport and of the Centre for Team Sports Studies. He is the author of several works published in journals, proceedings and books, and is on the editorial board of scientific and technical journals. Over the last 25 years he has been taking part in the development of teachers and coaches in Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. Professor Garganta has worked as a consultant at FC Porto and Sporting CP, in the context of observation and interpretation of the Soccer game. Since 2010, he has carried out an identical function at Portugal National Team AA, being present at the final stages in Euro 2012, in Poland/Ukraine, and in the 2014 World Cup, in Brazil. |
